I am running for Oakwood City Council. I love this city and our community, I love advocating for folks, and I love creative problem solving. I want to bring all of this to our city council this November!

With thanks to @lauriestras.bsky.social - my Sunday is definitely better for this!
Make your Sunday better with Ella and Mel swapping fours. In the same octaves. We rightly worship Ella, but why do we often forget what a freakin incredible singer Mel Tormé was, too?
Wanna see something cool?

At the Grammy's in 1976, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explained what jazz is.

The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥

People with intellectual disabilities get called the R-word. People used the R-word to say that it was okay to discriminate against us. Some people still use the R-word that way. It still hurts us to…

As a historian, my considered opinion is that you journalists, as a group, should stop writing about pronatalism in the 21st century, if you do not know enough about the histories of natalism, race science, and eugenics.
deleted og post because people on here were getting too mean for me to ignore. to reiterate, I think Liz's piece was good. (I think the dek was not great, but read in context with the piece, okay. of course I know many people won't read both.)

It's the least we can do. And then do one more little thing.

If you're participating tomorrow in the 24-hour economic boycott, be sure to make it known.

On "Choose Democracy"'s wonderfully helpful site, click on "Boycott Central" in the menu and click on the blue button to be counted.

Very much this.
I know that people are calling Musk's lackies kids and babies to make a point about their youth and lack of life experience. But can we think about who gets to be called a "kid" at 19 and older, and who doesn't?
