Just got back from the federal building in downtown San Diego where our local bishop and other church leaders were leading a vigil for the immigrants unjustly incarcerated there. The leadership the church has shown on this issue is inspiring.

Ah, Russell and Rhys.... we'll hopefully bring those crazy kids back together at some point. What's on everyone's wish list for a second project featuring the two of them?
Netflix has new seasons of TV with Keri Russell (Diplomat) and Matthew Rhys (The Beast in Me) within the same month, while Sarah Snook (All Her Fault) and Matthew Macfadyen (Death By Lightning) have new streaming shows dropping this week. Co-stars staying in close proximity.

A few years ago I decided to experiment to come up with a design that you could use to make a bar stool with a few simple hand tools and a single 8 foot 2x4 from the local Home Depot.

Every now and then I'll re-read this Steve Albini article from 1993 thebaffler.com/salvos/the-p...
its terrifying

But a tiny part of my broken self is chasing a twisted sense of 'validation' from being a 'global success' and I'm not sure what horrifies me more, the music industry or myself.

It still warps my brain to imagine that when I was in college in Toronto he was at Queens, just a couple hundred clicks up the road -- that we theoretically inhabited the same space-time continuum

I wonder if his classmates knew he was destined to become a Bond supervillain

Huh well it turns out I heard from a few federal workers about this and well

seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

While the US cuts essential benefits and arts & culture get decimated, the Irish government built a permanent UBI program for musicians. A better and more sustainable music industry is possible! US lawmakers must give more public funding for the arts and protect artists and workers.

Pritzker gets it.

Why can't the Senate caucus get it?
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

We had all the momentum

•The American people were blaming Republicans

•A landslide Democratic victory

•Courts ordering Trump to fund SNAP benefits

Yet you couldn't convince your caucus to fight for us

It's the final straw that breaks the back of your tenure as leader, Senator

Time to step down
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting
