Every time I watch DUNKIRK (I was underwhelmed by in the cinema) I am more convinced it's one of the best movies of the last 20 years. As a writer, I should be pissed. Nolan wanted to shoot it without a script. It's him working on pure directorial instinct. But he nailed it.

Really enjoyed PLAY DIRTY. It’s pure concentrated Shane Black in all the best ways. But it should have been directed by Tony Scott in 1998. It would have been one of my fave movies of the decade.

Mcavoy is a fucking BEAST in that SPEAK NO EVIL remake. Terrifying. I’ve said it before, that as a director, Watkins is the real deal. But between this and EDEN LAKE, the dude legit thinks the British working classes are mindless monsters.
