I have completed the dress. I haven't decided on the belt option yet, and I've got the matching hat to complete.

For those that crochet, I'm sure you can appreciate the work that went into this.

The base pattern is the Strawberry Dress by Trans-Atlantic Crochet.

A moon picture for you.

Don't be fooled by the color of the clouds. I saw lightning in them.

Oh my goodness. I keep forgetting to interact on all of my social media.

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Perhaps watching history documentaries from the 1990s about Germany and the Nazi movement and the inspiration they took from the eugenics practices in the USA that they applied to their racial hygiene isn't the best choice tonight.

Have a kitty picture instead of chaos news.

Fellow students of history: I can't be the only one seeing parallels to the 1930s. It feels like the eugenics movement all over again.

Eugenics and the Nazis -- the California connection
In its extreme, racist form, this meant wiping away all human beings deemed "unfit,"...

Wearing a shirt with a Bible verse on it today to remind myself and others.

John 13:34 "As I have loved you, love one another."

If you're looking for the new undercover racist and bigot dog whistle, it's referring to people as DEI hires, because that also used to be Affirmative Action hires.

I see you and your prejudice and hatred.

The four Christmas shirts I bought. My grandson, who is autistic, liked the skeleton one when I turned on the lights and told me, "want shirt." 😍

A friend and I behind the scenes on set as Jewish people during the filming of "Origin" by Ava DuVernay. This was before my hair was cut for another scene later.

Jim Henson produced an incredible, multifaceted body of work, from the Muppets, to Sesame Street, to Fraggle Rock, and Labyrinth, but I don't think enough people appreciate the true genius of The Dark Crystal. It really needs to be watched again as an adult.

Sometimes I wonder what people think about the mixture of colors in my hair. That is the way it grew back after being hacked and shaved for the concentration camp scene in the film "Origins," by Ava DuVarney.

This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.

You'd be surprised how many people have this misconception.

Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.
