I used to HATE winter. Vehemently. Turns out growing happier and more comfortable in your body makes you happier and more comfortable with your life and everything in it. Even your absolute least favorite season.

Just accidentally quit an awful, stressful, soul-crushing job that didn't even pay enough to make ends meet, let alone to justify the work. Whoops?

Trans people deserve to live in peace.

Trans people deserve to live happy lives.

Trans people deserve to be seen and heard.

Trans people deserve equal protection under the law.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.

More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.

I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.
