I'm less than 2K words away from finishing writing the 2nd book of the Muse Chronicles and my characters just completely changed the ending on me. I hate the new ending. Yes, it makes more sense, is more dramatically appropriate and sets up book 3 so much better, but I still hate it.

Just hit 60K words on the latest novel. Happy with the progress, but what is making me really happy is that I may have finally settled on a title for the book! 🙂

First writing for the year, back on the second book of the Muse Chronicles. Took a break over Christmas, and found it hard to restart since the characters are currently in a bad place and I feel terrible doing that to them.

Christmas is a joyful time, but it is important to recognise that is also brings stress, obligations, frustrations, burn out from the year past and worries about the year to come. To everyone I wish some precious moments of peace this holiday time. May you find you are able to be kind to yourself.

Writing may be hard, but editing is so much harder. Especially when a scene you have crafted ends up needing to be dumped for various reasons.
I cope with that by cutting and pasting those scenes into another file, my 'Deleted Scenes' file. That way they still appear as extras on the DVD in my mind.
