I genuinely think Andy Burnham is the only person that can save Labour. The sooner he gets back in parliament, the better.

What does it take for train ticket pricing to change? It is frustrating having to pay £60 for a ticket only to find out the train is half empty.

NYC dem mayoral primary is essentially over. What will be interesting is by how much Mamdani will win the mayoral election itself.

Imagine sending an email to the whole university and people who don’t even go there reminding them they have an Ecology report due tomorrow at 2pm. Couldn’t be me!

Reinstate the Winter Fuel Allowance. Now.

If this (and the rest of the results) doesn’t sound the alarm for Starmer and Reeves, it’s over.

My lesson of last night’s elections (so far) is that Labour are getting outflanked on cultural right and economic left by Reform (ie complaints about WFA, PIP) but seem to have chosen so far to worry only about former.

Winning by 6 votes is absolutely nuts. You can’t even call that a win.

Not sure how you can defend FPTP anymore.
Bowthorpe (Norwich) Council By-Election Result:

🌹 LAB: 31.5% (-30.4)

🌍 GRN: 19.6% (+8.0)
🌳 CON: 12.8% (-4.8)

Reform are having a good night so far. I will be surprised if Labour continue with business as usual.

One thing that baffles me is that Starmer talks about how bad 'division' is yet he keeps entertaining the culture wars of the right.

Saying you're treating trans people 'with dignity and respect' whilst doing everything but that is... a choice. #PMQs

Again, how much political capital would they lose? Would it not be worth the benefits?

What about... a wealth tax?

I know there were plans to do something about concert ticket pricing in Parliament but haven't heard anything in quite a while. Does anyone have any idea what the plans are regarding that?

Keir Starmer to Kemi Badenoch at #PMQS:

"She's not doing her job, she's not concerned about national security, and she's not fit to be prime minister"

Starmer’s sigh… he has had enough of Badenoch.
February 5, 2025 at 12:14 PM
It is honestly so sad how bad Kemi Badenoch is at PMQs.

Would not be surprised if she defects to the Republican Party than Reform
If the Conservative Party is looking for a ‘Clause IV moment’ it could do a lot worse than suspending Suella Braverman — pushing her out before she jumps

Not sure it fits with Badenoch’s ostensible strategy. But at some point Braverman will defect & Badenoch would do well to get ahead of any damage
