The advances we've made in statistics, experimental study design, and causal inference over the past century are remarkably useful for understanding our world. But there is never been a push to make people use them like we are seeing with generative AI. Perhaps take a moment to consider why.

A teenager crossing Dearborn complemented me on my @bikelaneuprising.bsky.social jacket, saying it was “cool.” A 43-y-o can’t ask for much more than that.

So many people did so much work to get these bills crafted & passed. A huge coalition of statewide work & support for public transit in Illinois.

As a board member for Active Transportation Alliance, I am thrilled that we can partner with a forward-thinking “green” coalition in the state.

Peer review for a journal article using couplas to model crash risk across roadway segments. The abstract says the Frank coupla performs well.

My first thought was, “Frank Coupla? The guy who directed ‘Apocalypse Now’?”

Saw this last night. As the article states, Radvanovsky absolutely belts out the title role standing, sitting, laying down, and crawling. No offense to the other great parts (and music, and effects), but she carries the show with her pipes.
