The fact of the matter is that helping people costs money and that is just not popular with corporations that, for all practical purposes, own a vast number of congresspersons.
Get money out of politics and we can move onward and upward

“kitchen table issues” is so damn patronizing. like, first of all, many of us can’t afford a kitchen that will even fit a table, let alone the time to sit
around it together. why is the democratic party still operating on the assumption that the average american family lives in a 1950s sitcom?

🚨 Just a reminder that 48% of SNAP recipients work full time. 39% of SNAP recipients are kids. 20% of SNAP recipients are seniors.

If you think it's funny that those people will go hungry, then it’s YOU that is a terrible person, not them.

Former U.S. Rep. Mickey Leland (D-TX), his Chief of Staff Patrice Johnson, legislative aide Joyce Williams and counsel Hugh Johnson + nine other USAID + Ethiopian pilots in 1989 perished in a plane crash feeding people who were starving to death.

Today the US can't fund the SNAP program.

Shameful.
