Communities need used-book shops.

As the trends in our world are increasingly standardized and entrenched by "predictive" technologies that stifle innovation and reduce human actions into economic categories...

We need a full range of possibilities for readers and communities to explore and share.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.

None of this is acceptable to European strategic defence, let alone to the Ukrainians!

It is a plan to create a weakened Ukraine, ready to be turned into a satellite state, like Belarus, that can be used as a launch pad for a Russian invasion of NATO countries.
Explained: What is Trump's 28-point Ukraine plan?
A draft 28-point plan backed by US President Donald Trump would require Ukraine to offer territorial and security concessions to Moscow, while Russia would be readmitted to the G8 group and receive sa...

It’s fun to think about the surgeon who will botch your surgery 20 years from now and what he’s doing at this moment. He just ran all his homework through ChatGPT. He just read that article about vaccines and autism at the CDC website. He just watched an Instagram video about the moon landing hoax.

32 years ago tonight, Nirvana records their MTV Unplugged performance. Not only a gorgeous, eerie (unintentional) swan song from Cobain, but also a total stylistic reinvention by Dave Grohl.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Heh. I should be surprised.

Born in the 80's: "Work hard and your country will educate you, keep you healthy and provide for your retirement after a lifetime of hard work."
Late 90's: "Well, maybe not all education."
2010's: "About that pension."
Some now: "Vote for us and we'll close the NHS."

Is there anything redeemable left of Twitter?

My thoughts are no, there is neither use nor benefit to the platform anymore.

It’s time to burn it to the ground and salt the earth for good measure.

But.. but.. but didn’t Reform promise to give better care to the elderly if they got voted to run the councils..

They didn’t say anything about throwing old people out on the street.. mind you they also promised to cut council tax which they are raising so 🤷🏼‍♂️
So, the son of an elderly woman, in a Lancashire council funded care home, threatens to leave the party, if the Reform council continue with their plans to sell off five residential care homes, to save money. Oh, the irony!
