@minzlicht.bsky.social I'm listening to the latest episode of two psychologists (rarely) four beers a bit late, so just heard you're in Japan for a month. I lived there for 12 years, so if you're after any info send me a DM, and I'll help as much as I can

So, Britain is becoming more dishonest, because... self-report measures say so. Anyone see the flaw in this inference?

Hi #SocialPsyc feed. I’ve removed “social psychology” as a tag phrase for this feed to try to make its posts a bit more intentional and relevant. So, from now on, the only hashtags that will get posts included in this feed are: #socialpsyc & #socpsyc (neither one case sensitive)! 👍

When academics regularly express their political opinions online, it under undercuts their credibility with the public.

Productivity tip of the day: when deciding which of many tasks to do, pick the one without a looming deadline. You'll find time for the ones with deadlines because you have to. Do the one you'd be putting off otherwise! (I did this today, will update if I miss any deadlines! 😅)

@wiringthebrain.bsky.social Just listened to your appearance on DTG. Your book is definitely now on my list, but I wanted to ask about the idea that physics isn't entirely deterministic. Is this something discussed at length in the book? Is there anything else you can recommend to read on the idea?

Why don't humans have tails or lay eggs? Adventures in evolutionary randomness.
A new study explains why humans don't have tails. It shines a bewildering light on the role of chance in the evolutionary trajectory of how we became ourselves—and why "good enough" often works.
