To me among the most infuriating parts about the healthcare debate and ACA credits is this would not be an issue if we were like every developed country on Earth and GUARANTEED HEALTHCARE AS A HUMAN RIGHT.

We'd pay half per capita what we're paying now, have more coverage, & longer life expectancy.

Hard and fast rule of legitimate policing:

With the sole exception of the undercover infiltration of criminal activity, if as an officer you undertake duties that cause you to hide your identity from the public then what you are doing is corrupt and immoral. Also, you're an asshole.
At least in Watchmen they wore recognizable uniforms.

@badgernoonan.bsky.social help me with the data analysis on GB’s change. Is this the sign of a bad trend (last 4 games) or is it just a case of eliminating GB’s top two offensive DVOA data points?
DVOA Top 10 if Weeks 1-2 didn't happen (with actual rank)

SEA (1)
IND (2)
DET (3)
KC (5)
LAR (4)
HOU (7)
PIT (11)
NE (20)
CHI (19)
TB (12)

Green Bay would be 18th (now 6th)

To be clear: this entire “we’ve got to run more pro-lifers” insanity is because literally a week ago polling showed that Democrats would prefer politicians like AOC and Mamdani over Jefferies and Schumer by, let me emphasize this, a 20 point fucking margin.

Honestly, this felt like a 2010 game. As Big Mike used to say, “Gotta get back to fundamentals.” “Team needs to learn to handle success.”
This is the most GB penalties in a game since **checks notes** the year the Packers last won the Super Bowl.

Chill out.

18.59 MPH max speed for Jordan Davis on this score.

Fastest speed reached by an NFL player weighing 330+ lb. since at least 2017, per NextGenStats.

AI may deskill labor in the coming years, just as tech has done for many trades. But even if the human hand may not always produce a better product, it may be special for the sake of craft.

Either way, when shopping for a suit, now you know to flip over the lapel to see if there are dimples.

Fifth place, pick one from 3 Ninjas, The Next Karate Kid, Surf Ninjas, or the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie (I said what I said).

Folds: If we’ve been told our whole lives that we can’t spend money on the arts because they’re not important—then why was taking over the Kennedy Center and the arts the first thing they did?

It is extremely important. It’s the bedrock of self-expression.

She’s 100% right. It takes far more optimism to face horrific realities and keep going than to keep your head in the sand in the first place.
A lot of people call me a doomer but at heart I'm an optimist. I have an unshakable faith that things in the long term will work out for the better. Even the utopian Star Trek universe had a hellish few decades around this time. What I mourn is all the people we'll lose along the way.

VERY cold winter morning. I was running the Lake Loop in Madison back in 2019/2020. The only other person I saw the whole 15 miles was Mandela Barnes. Shouted some encouragement to each other as we ran by one another.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off
Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.
