And this is one of the many reasons why I love baseball.
This college baseball game on mlb network just ended on a hidden ball trick at second base

🙌🏻
Starting today, there will be at least one live MLB game for 216 of the next 220 days. This is good, in my opinion.

As Daniel Lynch competes for a roster spot, he's leaning on perspective gained last season & lessons learned from becoming a dad. For maybe the first time, he's not worried about his role.

Loving this article from @usatoday.com. The intersection of sports, politics, culture, and social justice have always been of interest to me. Especially with the common narrative I encounter of sports fandom being a waste of time and energy.
Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are living counters to wave of anti-Blackness | Opinion
Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes made history in 2023 as the Super Bowl's first two starting Black quarterbacks. They're back and vital as ever.

A reminder* that you can use feeds here so that you only see the content you want right then. and you can have a minutes of peaceful cat and mushroom photos without the doom in between, then flip to news and then back for a palate cleanser. 🧵

It’s okay to laugh and find joy in things right now. I know it’s hard, and may even feel massively incongruous with everything going on in the bigger picture. But you still deserve joy and comfort wherever you can find it. 🧵

This is such good news for those of us that are ebook readers but felt like we didn’t have options to really ditch Amazon! I 💙 bookshop.org.
Pretty big deal. @bookshop-org.bsky.social is selling ebooks now. You can now support indies while purchasing digital books.

Just a reminder that if you’re feeling extra exhausted right now, you’re not alone and that’s expected. You’ll feel alone, and you’ll look around and see people who seem to be moving on about their lives without struggle, somehow managing to carry on. But it’s not the honest truth. 🧵

Okay, #booksky I need some advice!

How do I get better at using @thestorygraph.com?

I’ve always used Goodreads, and the fact that is automatically recorded start/finish dates from my Kindle was the only reason I had any sort of reading log.

I’ve imported my history, but now how do I keep up?!

A week ago, this wasn’t how I planned to spend Christmas Day. But thanks to an awesome client and always down for a roadtrip family, we’re in Pittsburgh to watch the Chiefs.

Eventually my body will realize we’ve been up since 6am yesterday, but driving all night was worth it!

I think this may be his way of telling me I’ve played enough Minecraft for the day…😆 I asked him nicely if I could please have those back and he whacked me in the nose with his tail, so I guess that’s a no.

Thanksgiving Pro Tip: Free speech is a government mandate that says that Congress shall not make laws that restrict Americans' speech.

Which means, so long as you're not in Congress, you have every right to tell anyone you want to shut the fuck up. 😘

Protect your peace. Walk out on the cult.

With all that's going on, it's hard to focus on anything, much less designing. The designs feel…like it's wasting time. Then I remember that art, design, and even enjoyment can be an act of rebellion and that it is art that I turn to keep my spirit alive.

On Thursdays I host a virtual coworking session for my community and it’s always a part of my week that I really look forward to. But apparently today everyone was in the Thanksgiving spirit already and decided it was “say nice things about Dani day.” 🥰

Apparently this platform is another where everyone likes cat photos, so please, allow me to contribute.

Meet Rusty, we adopted him about a month ago. He’s an asshole, but at least he’s cute.

Ah, I love a good fresh start. I was never particularly active on that other platform, but happy to be feeling out a new space. And while I’m at it, also decided to finally move from Goodreads to StoryGraph. And now I’m wondering what else I need to switch…
