Vienna's first Dutch-inspired cycling street was recently completed on Argentinierstraße, totally transforming the 1.3 km corridor. 140 car parking spaces were removed to significantly improve the walking and cycling experience—while adding greenery and seating to also turn it into a place to stay.🧵

That’s a P2 in Hulkenburg world!
Hulkenberg passed Hamilton for P6 on the penultimate lap, which becomes P5 after Verstappen's penalty

What a result for Hulkenberg and Kick Sauber! 👏

ULEZ works. It’s that simple.

Expanding the Ultra Low Emission Zone wasn’t a decision I took lightly, but the latest figures show that it was the right one for the health of millions of Londoners.

Somehow TfL runs at a profit despite having the only major mass transport system without government subsidy. Imagine what we could have in London if private companies weren’t partaking in the profits!
This is because even though TFL is public owned, it doesn't run its services instead franchising them to private companies who make massive profits.

For instance TFL leases all the Underground Trains at nearly 90% profit to the companies supplying them.

E-bikes are the solution to last mile delivery.
“Bicycles offer a number of advantages in express delivery operations: they can bypass traffic congestion and make up to two times as many stops per hour than a delivery vehicle. The total cost of ownership over their lifetime is less than half that of a van.” - John Pearson, CEO, DHL Express Europe

The American left is far too petty to actually function as an electoral force. Imagine if instead of laughing at Trump voters there was a righteous fury, a narrative of “these people convinced you to vote for them, they lied to you, and now they’re screwing you”. Coalition building starts now.

Oxford Street next please!!!
One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.

Next time a politician tells you “We don’t know how to fix it”

Yes we do. Metro systems across Asia have been using platform edge doors for decades to prevent suicides. It works.
There have been 816 suicides on Toronto’s subway system since 1954, and another 915 people have attempted suicide over that time.

In 2023, the last full year of data available, 11 people died by suicide & another 33 people attempted suicide.

It's insane we haven't done something about it yet...
It's crazy the extent we go to prevent an extremely rare occurrence like a catastrophic fire in a metro station, and then we just shrug for a much more common occurrence, someone falling in the tracks, saying installing platform barriers even in brand new systems is too complicated or costly.

I walk down one of these dingy underpasses every day on my way to and from work. It’s not pleasant, and I know several people who choose not to walk specifically in order to avoid it. Mode share requires better walking and cycling infrastructure to succeed.
Motonormativity: who must travel out of their way to go through a dingy underpass, and who gets a smooth uninterrupted route across the surface?

The ONLY way to explain to the average American how bad this administration is, is by explaining how their actions kill people. Air traffic control hiring freeze? First American airline crash in 16 years. Freeze aid funding? Cancer patients don’t get chemo and die. It’s that simple.
If the FAA director got fired over a business beef AND there was an air traffic controller hiring freeze despite huge shortages AND a chaotic blitz to hollow out federal bureaucracy, and then within a week the first American airliner crashes in 16 years, you would be insane not to talk about it all.
