Having watched with growing alarm the developments of the last 24 and 36 hours in Washington, I thought I’d take a stab at how the US media would cover this story if it was happening in a foreign country. Here’s that story that should be written this weekend: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-s-jun...
Musk's Junta Establishes Him as Head of Government
Imagining how we'd cover overseas what's happening to the U.S. right now

Violent paramilitary forces commingling with government is a signal for society. It is a signal that attempts to kill your opposition are heroic and will be lauded. This is a pretext to violence and insurrection against those seen as the enemy. This is the stuff civil conflict is made of

Never forget that Musk stood on stage at the inaugural celebrations today, did the Nazi salute twice, and quoted from the 14 words.

We are now led by literal Nazis. God help us all.

Hi, I’m God.

Elon forced H1B workers to manipulate the Twitter algorithm to get Trump elected, creating and promoting fake stories & allowing disinformation from Russia, Iran, & Israel. Now they’re doing it to Germany and others. H1B workers can’t say no or they lose their jobs and have to leave the US.

Oof this one hits hard, as I try to convince people in my life that facts exist and are knowable, even facts about politics.
“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist.”

As an ex prosecutor I’m most disturbed by Trump’s utilization of social media to intimidate witnesses against him. This should be yet another criminal charge of interference in a criminal investigation. This is the most troubling aspect of Jack Smith’s report. See attached.

The special counsel report affirms that Trump led a criminal conspiracy attempting to overturn the 2020 election, which ultimately led to the violent and deadly attack on the Capitol.

He would have been convicted of these felonies had he not delayed the trial.

Special Counsel Report Says Trump Would Have Been Convicted in Election Case
The report, which said the special counsel’s office stood “fully behind” the merits of the prosecution, amounted to an extraordinary rebuke of the president-elect.

They’re saving the dogs. They’re saving the cats.
"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

Oh man, yall have to read this entire thread.
Whitewashing the uncomfortable parts of the past doesn't just affect Black stories. For example, you can't fully appreciate how a peanut farmer from Plains, GA became a beloved president unless you know TRUE Black History.

The unwhitewashed history of Jimmy Carter:

Why do they love ivermectin so much???
Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan are telling people that Ivermectin cures stage 4 cancer. My mother is an NP who has spent her career working in oncology, and these lies will literally kill people.
