I have just not been paying to the news because it’s so dire but the one time I check, the orange POS wins a random peace prize? I was already boycotting World Cup. This just solidifies it

Actually kinda tired of sports being ruined. First footy, now pointy throw ball. People ask why I watch baseball? I have zero expectations as it sucks already

Probably the last time I’ll bother watching a Grey Cup. The rule changes for next year are egregious

Seriously? Privacy advocates have been sounding the alarm since forever. Society’s response? Apathy.

Canada is a police state. In 2025, our cops have body cameras equipped with facial recognition technology.

Did you people 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 Palantir? Because that’s how you get Palantir.

It’s too fucking late.
Begging people to strip this surveillance gear out of their homes. No Alexa, no Nest thermostat, no Ring cameras, no gd internet linked refrigerators. An actually zone of privacy, for God’s sake.

Sat down to watch the Ward 13 last ditch debate by @sprawlcalgary.bsky.social

I’m dying from Clearly Not Dan Maclean. I was assuming it old be more like a 1-1 interview The chosen former was so much better.

Getting caught up on my Knowledge Fight episodes. On the one where Kirk was killed. How low can Alex Jones possibly go? He is so gross

Yet again the Liberal government shows they are for the bosses and not for the workers.

I needed something to get me out of my reading slump so I got a cheesy nursery mystery. Oh good gawd it’s worse than I expected. Also, really, plus sized at size 12? Ughhhh

This was fun. UBI made it into most of my comments.
Only a few days left to take this questionnaire and write in your own answers to let this Liberal government know that you don't actually want them to be a conservative government.
The government of Canada has a questionnaire about it's new budget. Most of the given options are conservative (because this is a conservative government) but there are some that aren't, and you can write in your own responses.

When union offices have to double as food banks for their members, that’s a problem. Pay. Them.
Air Canada flight attendants deserve to be paid for the work they do. Plain and simple.

Flight Attendants want a deal - they want a solution. That solution will only come from Air Canada getting back to the table.
Air Canada strike:

“We’re going to stay committed to making sure that those workers can do the job that they love doing and actually be able to afford a roof over their heads, to afford caring for their families,” CUPE president just said.

“If it means folks like me going to jail, then so be it.”

If the Liberals implement binding arbitration, they should make sure the new collective agreement includes everything the workers asked for.

Then these large employers would stop begging the Liberals to override constitutionally guaranteed freedoms.

Workers deserve better than a government that denies their right to fight for fair treatment.

The federal government has no business interfering in the labour dispute between Air Canada and workers.

This terrible decision by the Liberals undermines negotiations and hurts labour rights.
The Liberal government has invoked Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code to end a strike by Air Canada flight attendants fighting to end unpaid work and poverty wages.

“No one should accept being forced to work for free, for hours and hours, every day. No one should accept being forced to work for poverty wages for years in a profession, just to earn a dignifying living. That’s what this is about,” said CUPE Air Canada Component president Wesley Lesosky.

We are living in a police state has never been more true
Police have set up a checkpoint and appear to be stopping every single car on 14th st NW, between W+V, here in northwest DC. Some cars are being pulled over after being stopped.

Some police are wearing “HSI police” vests (Homeland Security Investigations)
