and you know what? these students should also be judged, and judged harshly for this. running to the admins and state legislators and the press because you got a fairly earned failing grade on an assignment is and should be seen as a mark of extremely poor character. it makes you a very bad person.
the primary thing that TPUSA provides to young conservatives is a blueprint for weaponizing the abject cowardice of university administrators against individual teachers and instructors, and university admins should take a long look in the mirror and think about what that says about them

I find this so bizarre and unsurprising. Yet again we see university admin sacrifice the ideals of the academy on the altar of comfort. The idea of taking any moral stand is anathema to them. Just sheer intellectual cowardice.

This is obviously true, but even beyond that there are plenty white families and cultures who also do this! Ask my son and he’ll tell you he has like 10 aunts and uncles and I have two blood siblings. It’s a wholly invented and insidious controversy.
Awful piece. Just because so many white people are culturally ignorant and don’t know that Aunt, Auntie, Cousin are all terms to describe family members or close friends of our parents - even if that’s not their blood connection. The racism, the desperation, the sheer…..smallness of these attacks!

Update: Bari Weiss’s first pitch at CBS — a roundtable with Antony Blinken, Mike Pompeo, and Hillary Clinton that ended up being a virtual interview with Clinton & Condoleezza Rice — has about 150 viewers on YouTube.

Added with the 24/7 CBS stream, it’s just over 1200 viewers.

Sending troops from Texas to forcefully occupy and suppress cities in Illinois and Oregon IN OPPOSITION TO THOSE STATES' GOVERNORS is literally a civil war and it's cooking my brain that Democrats are simply pretending it isn't happening
UPDATE: Hegseth today called up 400 members of the Texas National Guard, with Gov. Abbott's apparent permission, to be deployed "where needed, including in the cities of Portland and Chicago." www.politico.com/news/2025/10...

This flies in the face of the entire body of education literature. Just absolute rubbish.
“The microschool will also serve as a beachhead for artificial intelligence-based instruction, says Parker, the superintendent, noting that with two instructors for 26 students they will need to rely on Khanmigo’s AI tutor for tailored instruction.”

Ezra Klein is really putting to the torch the idea that he ever was a smart guy. He’s speed running self destruction.
The idea of running anti-abortion Democrats is sickening to me. That means killing women! That is what that means!

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.
This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

Firing and demoralizing feminized jobs as enemies of the state while brazenly bribing men with violent jobs that almost instantly puts them into the middle of middle class is very basic gendered warfare. Fulfilling the manosphere’s promise.
It is insane to me that the government can find money to pay ICE agents increasingly larger sums of money, yet teachers have to buy their own pencils.

the one thing i genuinely did not anticipate from this administration was its vicious, know nothing hostility to any and everything that might even be adjacent to science and scientific research. they genuinely one to destroy the entirety of the nation’s research capacity. and for what, exactly?

James Carville! Once again, missing the mark!!

"We demand a repeal" looks backwards, not forwards. It assumes that people know what the bill did, how it's hurting them, or that they know "repeal" in this case is good, not bad like Obamacare repeal. Sigh.

It’s so funny to me how these reactionary centrists can look around at a world where US citizens are being thrown in concentration camps and still think the problem worth writing about is the lefties on Bluesky are too mean to me.
Apparently it’s weird when you don’t want to spend your whole day arguing with randoms.

the big questions for american democracy going forward seem to be (1) can the GOP actually build the federal police state they just funded, (2) in time to finish before democratic checks can be established, and (3) whether dems gaining power would actually try to stop/dismantle it

It's interesting because despite Hungary's much-touted Orbanist pro-family and supposedly fertility-inducing policies, such as exempting families with 3+ kids from all income taxation, the Hungarian fertility rate has plummeted right into the toilet in the last few years

man it would've been nice if the dems ever had a plan for SCOTUS other than "win every election till a bunch of justices die of old age again, hope we have the executive, house, and senate with untouchable majorities then, and hope they don't roll back too many rights anyway till that happens"
