In nearly 40 years in uniform, I often served alongside AID workers. Columbia, Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.They are brave and true and deliver real security for a tiny amount of the federal budget. Almost anyone in uniform would endorse their contributions. Shutting them down is a huge mistake.

How fitting all this talk about writing being political. I just wrote something about that in my newsletter. Essentially, all writing is political. It’s always informed by the person writing it.

I've quietly been revisiting, editing, and updating some old short stories and a novella of mine, most of which have long been out of print.
