Great to see occupational therapy and other AHPs in the spotlight at the Senedd last week, when they debated a motion calling on the government to provide greater support to Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

Watch the debate 👇

@thercot.bsky.social any chance you might want to mention. That there was a debate in @senedd.wales about AHPs. Occupational therapy, and RCOT was talked about throughout?? be great if it was published. Pretty sure it would be if it was Westminster!!

Our Children and Young People's Professional Advisor, Dr Sally Payne, sees the government's announcement for more support for neurodivergent children in mainstream schools as a positive step forward.

I'm keen to understand occupational therapists' opinions on working with people on mental health acute admissions wards. Are there people too unwell to start OT?

I don't think so. The most unwell are normally the most occupational deprived. Even the smallest participation in occupation helps?

@empirepoduk.bsky.social I'm on episode 4 of the podcast series the troubles, and honestly, I'm flabbergasted that you have hardly talked about the unionist side ? You going to focus on this in the future? They are a pretty important part of it all

#Scotland v #Wales rugby is dying when referees don't award tries like that. I know I'm Welsh but that's a shocking decision. I'd say that if Scotland had a disallowed try similar

I'm truly thankful that Keir Starmer is our PM at this current moment. It's the one shining light in all this god-awful mess.

The world is a very dangerous and unpredictable place. You have #POTUS actively victim blaming a country and overtly supporting a dictator and despot. It's deeply deeply worrying times

Geeky OT post. MOHO is an excellent heuristic device to gain an understanding of how people perform occupations. I'm wondering if it's been used to understand how organisations work and then to develop strategies for change. Its basically an input/output devise like our systems models.

Autism is a difference in neurology, a different neuro-type

Autism is not a disorder

Therefore, being autistic is not something that needs to be 'fixed' in someone

Vaccines do not cause someone to be autistic (having autistic parents usually does)

Just thought I'd share some news. I'm leaving RCOT and returning to the NHS as a lead OT in mental health. I'm with RCOT until April. I've loved my time there but new challenges await.
