Why is this still happening? Because while "race" is about as real as Santa Clause, the weaponization of this false construct called "racism" is still harming some people--while benefiting others. That's just wrong.

This is what @gavinnewsom.bsky.social absolutely should have done. We know how well these regimes do in lawsuits.
California will file suit against the Trump administration over its move to take control of the state’s National Guard and deploy its troops to Los Angeles, Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a social media post Monday. Here's what to know.

The kakistocracy is a nihilocracy.
Donald Trump is blowing up essential government functions in ways that may take decades to restore. This nihilism deserves a new name—nihilocracy. @normornstein.bsky.social‬ explains.

No, you can't just remove a university's tax-exempt status because you disagree with it politically -- Trump's move on Harvard will be challenged in court. And struck down.

But sure, tell me more about how right-wingers are defenders of the First Amendment.

Hundreds of Museum and Library Grants Terminated Overnight
IMLS’s Trump-appointed director Keith Sonderling cut an estimated over 1,000 grants as the administration continues to decimate arts and culture funding.

This. Is. Horrifying. Only a sociopath could fantasize this way. It gives unconscionable White imperialist colonist vibes, too. 🤨😡
Complete batshit lunacy on the president's Truth Social account. Yes, he really posted this.

I’m unsure of who didn’t expect this, but I did. This happens under every Republican president. This one decided to make it happen faster. In fact, his co-president promised hard times for most Americans while he uses his pseudo agency to dismantle American government and upend our economy.

FYI the National Council of Nonprofits is collecting stories via this form about how the executive orders are harming nonprofit organizations nationwide. If you just got screwed today, tell them about it here. They're also asking who is comfortable sharing their stories with reporters.

Americans are struggling with the high cost of living. Trump's funding freeze does nothing to help. It  makes childcare, housing, home-heating, & food more expensive by locking people out of programs that cut costs.

I will fight this illegal action. People's lives are at stake.

Here's how to talk about the harm 4-7's actions are doing to *real* humans and the true reasons he's taking these actions.
Messaging advice from @navigatorsurvey.bsky.social. TLDR: talk about things people depend on being taken away and how this benefits the billionaires, don't talk about spending or a pause or separation of powers.

I agree. The way we’re racialized or gendered should not be punishable by financial death by student debt.
Reminder—the sole reason student loans exist is because Reagan was a racist & misogynist who didn't want "undesirables" (women & minorities) to get higher education so he defunded public education & forced privatization—thus canceling student loans is an economic, racial, & gender justice necessity.

We have a disastrous sick care system, not a health care system. SMH
If you want to understand why healthcare pricing is horrific, the first thing to know is that our system puts 100% of the credit risk for deductibles, copays and co-insurance on hospitals and doctors. That's insane.

We have turned them into Sub Prime Lenders 🧵

In which camp are you? Drink or avoid raw milk?
Health officials are warning Americans not to drink raw milk as bird flu spreads through cows. But some right-wing media figures and influencers are misleadingly suggesting that the product is safe or even healthier than traditional milk. And sales are growing.
Raw Milk’s Risks Don’t Stop Right-Wing Commentators From Defiantly Pushing It
On sites like Infowars, Gab and Rumble, federal concerns about raw milk are seen as overreach, but there are serious health risks and no scientifically proven benefits.
