Covid is rife at the moment and the latest strain seems ridiculously contagious.

Went through my house in a couple of days. No one spared.

Yesterday, I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt to watch the baseball at Jamsil. Now it's snowing in Seoul. WTF?!

Same goes for Pep. I've seen people say "any other manager gets sacked for this". Guess what? He isn't "any other manager". All those trophies belong to him. You get to walk around with your chest out giving it large to rivals because of Pep. Put some respect on the names please.

Are there any good English language documentaries about Saemaul Undong? Recommendations, please.

Those who stood ground throughout the night are being called “chocolate kisses” after wrapping themselves in silver thermal blankets to weather the cold as sweet protectors of democracy, looking similar to a Hersey’s Kiss. The holdout has been dubbed the “Protest of Kisses”
All night, pro-democracy protesters held their line against Yoon Suk Yeol near his residence, despite the snow and bitter cold

Yoon has been impeached. Vote was 204 in favor. Four more than needed.

I’m always amazed at how little traction good economic news gets here. Like how many people remember Korea’s unemployment rate reaching a record low in summer of 2023? And then again in August 2024? Or the employment rate hitting a record high? But the local news is all doom and gloom…

Did anyone else in the Brits in Korea FB group get messages from UK journalists asking if you'd joined the protests?

Yeah, I don't want to be on an NIS watch list, thanks

Incredible moment: Half the chamber is now standing up, and the opposition parties are chanting the names of every conservative party member who is not in the chamber (which is everyone but one), demanding they return to vote on the impeachment bill.

The reaction to rainbow armbands is so depressing. There needs to be an education in clubs. It's just solidarity. That's all. That people shouldn't be persecuted. Wearing a rainbow isn't saying 'This is my culture' or 'This is my lifestyle'. It's just saying let people live their lives and feel safe

Absolutely zero shade at all, but why were so many reporters and politicians drunk on a Monday evening?
I am, incidentally, pretty drunk rn (the job is 24/7!!!). This is the most Korean thing I've ever done.

And now he needs to go

즉각퇴진!
And just like that, Yoon has LIFTED martial law. It is over.

I hope the people of Gangnam are taking a long, hard look at themselves tonight.

All this just so they could stay a little bit richer.
