Not the point of this (the excellent point is the disparity in treatment of Clinton and Trump's "scandals"), but anyone else side-eyeing that email address?

hrod17? If it's your own server, couldn't you just get your name? Who are hrods 1-16? Does 17 mean something?
Meanwhile, here's an example of the horrendous things found in Hillary Clinton's emails—the only story worth covering for any serious news outlet in 2016, apparently.

This email is also regarding a child who suffered abuse from a grown man.

Over a decade and a half ago Cory Doctorow penned this then-science fiction story about the day Google turned evil.

I'll bet he's not happy to be proven right.

Let's read the cards

We're bold and inspired, but something is keeping us from acting - we're driven, but also desperately holding onto this moment, keeping what we have close. Too close.

If we let go we can fulfill that promise of the fire within and move on to something new.

The distance between NY Times Pitchbot and the actual NY Times has never been shorter
The Republican president is a pedophile who has doubled my healthcare costs and let scores of violent criminals out of jail. But a Democratic mayor-elect wants to make busses free in a city I don't live in. I have never felt more politically homeless.

Let's read the cards

When things seem to keep happening, spiraling out of control we need to step back, take a very deep breath. To pause doing and to be.

Then, after we detach from the chaos, we'll be ready to re-engage, to act.

Until then, we're in between receiving and giving

I already named 3, but there's another I genuinely loved.

Let's read the cards

This moment is all about motion, driven by whatever youthful enthusiasm we still possess. We got here through action , - perhaps a bit rash but not quite out of control, - and feel a fire, driving us onward.

Be bold, be inspired

Let's read the cards

We've needed something, and we can get it through mindful focus on our body, our real physical being and needs
If that brings us concrete prosperity it can open us up to being able to look within, towards our intuitions and the path to the next, deeper success

Let's read the cards

Sometimes when we feel bored and listless it's tempting to look back, filling the void with the simple joys we've accumulates through the years

If we're to feel as a child we should act as one - bold, curious, and open.

Let's read the cards

This weekend is about the heart. We're connected with our counterpart, maybe our partners. Even for those of us who have been together for a time we can still make it feel new, still speak from the heart.

That's how we grow into what we want to be. Together

Let's read the cards

We're faced with choices, but we know which is the right one - even if we may not like it. This is a moment to look at what's right, look at what's before us, and do what we need to do to end this chapter and open the next one.

This is the same tortured logic that said DOMA wasn't discriminatory because a gay man had the same right to marry a woman as a straight man had.

The Roberts court will go down in history as one of the worst we've seen.

This is an interesting question. It makes me sad, but it's almost certainly Nnedi Okorofor; I've seen some of her personality through her social media presence, and y'all know mine.

I love her work, but am certain we'd get along poorly. This is not an insult to her or me
I asked this before over at The Old Place and the answers delighted me. So again:

Who is an artist you admire who you suspect would not like you if they met you personally?

I think Peter Dinklage is fantastic. I would absolutely get on his last nerve. He'd be looking for the door while we spoke.

The Midnight Society's take on the NYC election is pitch perfect; especially HP Lovecraft's reaction.

(though damn you @midnightpals.bsky.social for making me think about Simmons again)
Stephen King: hey guys guess what?
King: the blue wave is back!🌊🌊🌊
King: it's curtains for DRUMP!
King: end of the line for mango mussolini!
King: no more orange julius caesar!
King: i haven't been so excited since we finally defeated bu$hitler back in '09!

Let's read the cards

Things keep happening, and they threaten to spiral out of control. Our mind got us here, and our mind can get us through

We need to remember that we are strong, we are capable, we are in control.

We may be riding the whirlwind, but we're up for the challenge

I feel that people cheering this don't remember how important she was in the passing of the Affordable Care Act - I'm convinced that without her we'd not have it.

Was she perfect? No. Did she overstay her welcome? Perhaps. But she was good at what she did, and the leader we needed at time time.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Nancy Pelosi won't seek reelection, ending her storied career in the US House.

This is why I don't post my Connections or Worldle score anymore.

The fall if the New York Times is one of the saddest developments of this decade. I'm a New Yorker - this is my newspaper. When I was in High School there was a discount subscription you could get delivered to your homeroom.

Technically two NK Jemisin novels, but yeah.

When do we annex Jersey City?
Apparently all you needed to do to predict the NYC election results was read that one N.K. Jemisin novel.

We can close BlueSky - nobody is going to top this.
why is this mayoral election different than all other mayoral elections?

in all other mayoral elections, we get to see andrew cuomo lose but once. but in this mayoral elections, we get to see him lose *twice*.

Let's read the cards

This is one of those moments of choice in which the only answer that appeals to us is "both"

With all we've been carrying lately that might seem overwhelming, but we're in a place to face it - to face all of it boldly and unflinching

Embrace everything

Let's read the cards

We're in touch with our intuitions, the mysteries, that doesn't stop us from having SO MUCH to carry. We understand, but that doesn't make it lighter

It does mean that we can see an end or at least a change in sight, even if we can't put it all down just yet.

Let's enjoy that and go vote

I'll also list the one sequel that took risks and genuinely surprised me:

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey

It delighted me when it came out, and is (IMHO) the best of the Bill and Ted trilogy
