CWU welcomes the European Court of Justice ruling confirming the EU’s Adequate Minimum Wage Directive as legally binding. This makes it clear that fair pay and collective bargaining are not optional; the Irish Government must now act to improve working standards.

The scapegoating of An Post and the charges being made against it lack all credibility.

In a strongly worded letter, CWU GS, Seán McDonagh, challenges recent claims linking An Post to the collapse of Fastway Couriers, describing such analysis as “way too convenient and completely inaccurate.”

No tricks, just fair treatment. ✊

This Halloween, the real fright shouldn’t come from your payslip or your workload. Every worker deserves fair pay, respect, and job security.

When we stand together, there’s nothing to fear. The CWU is here to make sure you’re treated fairly all year round.

Budget 2026: Breadcrumbs for Workers, Handouts for Corporate Giants

A 65c minimum wage rise and tiny USC tweak won’t cut it. Freezing tax bands drags more workers into higher rates.

Meanwhile, the government slashes VAT for the hospitality sector, lining the pockets of McDonald’s and Starbucks.

📢 TikTok cuts paternity leave & insists staff back in office five days a week.

This move undermines family rights and work-life balance. Changing leave entitlements while demanding full office presence shows a lack of respect for workers’ needs.

📢 TikTok is carrying out ‘stealth rounds’ of layoffs in Ireland.

After announcing 300 redundancies in March, smaller job cuts have followed with little transparency and growing fears that AI is being used as cover for outsourcing.
