"Each overdose handled at Chumir saves $1,600 compared to treating it in the street or ER. From 2017-2020, the SCS saved Alberta’s health system more than $2.3 million. Closing SCSs doesn’t erase those costs; it shifts them to 911 calls, ER beds and court dockets."
