I'll also say this outright: I remember people criticizing Code Geass and various modern Gundam shows for the politics being cartoonish, but...uh, real life sure is constantly proving that too many living political leaders and the ultra-wealthy can be both juvenile manchildren and cartoonishly evil.

I always was in the awkward position of being a Code Geass R2 apologist when it came to thematic analysis and character arcs, especially in light of genre and approach, but I also totally understood why folks weren't so happy about how exactly things turned out in terms of certain plot devices.

I was briefly tempted to say the current One Punch Man S3 anime controversy showed the dark side of the sakuga community, but I quickly realized that most of the people who actually know and care about the anime industry aren't the ones threatening creators or fueling the hate mobs.

F91 was released to theaters in an incomplete state, using TV-quality animation they had already made and missing many scenes. Later in the same year a "complete" edition was released to theaters, comprised of almost 100% redone animation. if you've seen F91 it was probably Complete Edition.

Andrew Dice (SpaceDrake) took a massive risk bringing over EasyGameStation titles at a time when “doujin” had almost zero visibility. It was a joy to see those games succeed! 10 years ago, he shared his burnout story, so it’s a triumph that he was able to come back for SRW Y. Rest in peace.

I can remember a time I was always looking forward to Carpe Fulgur's next project. Knowing that they helped with the translation and localization for Super Robot Wars was an unexpected yet welcome development.

Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.
