it's a real shame there wasn't just a Democratic president with control of federal law enforcement for 4 years, otherwise it would be pretty fuckin outrageous that he didn't find this

Presumably a mistaken suspension of a journalist who is a very anodyne poster over here, @aaron.bsky.team and co. What's the best way to reach the team who can look into it?
In a rare case of Substack notes usefulness, I just learned that Sarah Kendzior (author of They Knew and a brilliant writer) got bounced from Bluesky. What the hell? new @sarahkendzior.bsky.social

Look at these fucking clowns.
False attribution. If a person is suspended it is because of their identity? Could it not be because of their content? I wrote about it here aaron.leaflet.pub/3m52nqqmk322v

Earnest post: there is increasingly direct evidence that Trump participated in child sex trafficking or at least knew about it.

He should resign, be impeached and removed from office, and prosecuted.

Even if you don’t think that WILL happen it’s important to say publicly that it SHOULD happen.

Mayor Adams, on the Reset Talk Show, argues Zohran Mamdani didn't get "a mandate" from his election.

"There was no mandate, 49% stated that they did not want Zohran as their mayor," he says.

(Mamdani got over 250,000 more votes than Adams did in the 2021 election)

So, the media has to get involved before Bluesky's team will inform users why they've been suspended or consider reversing obvious moderation errors?

But JS is still welcome.

And they continue to verify known bigots.

Am I understanding this correctly?
We usually do that in response to media requests once they hit that threshold. I’ll try not to weigh in here, since that’s still details of an individual case. An interesting topic for a separate write up though, without discussing case specifics.

the choice to never publicly talk about mod decisions (which is common policy of virtually every corporate social media platform) has been catastrophic for the legitimacy of content moderation. users don’t trust/understand policies, forcing them into a necessarily adversarial position towards mods.
Our policy has been not to comment on individual accounts. You end up having to litigate every case in public, and we don’t have the capacity for infinite debates in public.

Then there’s also the consequences such as the increased litigation and bad actors gaming your systems.

This was one of the big changes I made when I took over moderation of Slate comments. I successfully managed a shift from a comment section openly at war with the authors and moderators of the site to a comment section that has some rough edges, but is no longer a headache or net negative for Slate.

I’m personally skeptical that an AI infused Windows desktop does anything that having ChatGPT on my phone and Gemini in my browser doesn’t already do better.
