I’ve been taking a bit of break from social media, but I watched too many great films this past month and can’t help but share them.

Go see THE SHROUDS if it is playing near you. It is more prickly and uncertain than CRIMES OF THE FUTURE and personalized in a way that Cronenberg hasn't been since THE BROOD. It's funny and erotic and deeply sad in a strange way. It's very of our times, but asks questions instead of giving answers

Sickening, evil, totally in line with everything in No Other Land. The final footage sees a settler shoot co-director Basel Adra's cousin point-blank in the stomach with a rifle. An Oscar can't stop hate crimes

🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.

Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.

In this episode, we do bad accents, talk the 10 year journey this film took, and how we have to just… deal with it existing.

How lovely it is that Lynch got to see the critical turnaround of his most fiercely denounced work I think a lot about the roundtable he did with the Palmer family actors in and out of character and how the latter you got to hear them all take joy in FWWM being reclaimed and championed

As Brody says here, “Collecting is an act of love”

What we lose isn’t just access but the satisfaction that comes with curation too. There are plenty of doomsday pieces about digital libraries ceasing to exist etc, pushing physical, but for me it has also always been about the human urge to build.
