Have folks been paying attention to what’s going on at Auburn University? Faculty are being asked to sign neo loyalty oaths — this will have a chilling effect on faculty’s freedom to teach and students’ freedom to learn. This is not what college education should be. www.al.com/news/2025/11...
Auburn University requires faculty to review courses to comply with anti-DEI law
Auburn's provost office posted a web site on how to comply with state and federal DEI mandates on Oct. 31.

When educators say that educational leadership preparation within a university is expendable, we are in a scary place. This is about my department, my university and is cause for alarm for educators everywhere. If they cut the only ed leadership PhD program in our state, whose will be next? (1/2)
University of Nebraska–Lincoln Proposes Cutting Ed Administration Programs

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

Every time I feel like I know a lot about the rise of fascism in Germany, I learn something new.
My mom called me last night about the Kimmel firing, saying "This is how Hitler got started!" I quickly responded, "By firing the late night tv hosts?"

Turns out, mom was right.

Hi, yeah, who’s going to tell Trump that’s not how universities work? It really shows how little he understands higher ed. His ignorance will continue to hurt students & colleges/universities as a whole—let’s see how long it takes to figure out how important they are to our state/national economies.

Omaha just elected Democrat John Ewing to replace 3 term Republican mayor Jean Stothert—seems like more of these reps need to be listening to their constituents or they may just lose their seat 💅👀

I can unequivocally say that MANY of the rural, poor and working-class students in my research credit TRIO to their success and continued enrollment in college. These cuts would be devastating to communities like where I come from. Write your congresspeople. www.insidehighered.com/news/student...

Republicans voted to allow ICE to cancel student visas with no due process. This would have an incredibly chilling effect (compounding on previous actions) on future international students pursuing education in the U.S. Our institutions DEPEND on those students’ tuition & fees dollars.
Last week, Republicans voted to let ICE cancel student visas with no due process.

As the only member of the Judiciary Committee who has actually been on a student visa, I wanted to explain what the process is like — and why that vote was so harmful.

The Trump budget cuts from education & research is devastating to humanity.

TRIO, Work Study, FIPSE, NEH, NEA, AmeriCorps, IML, NSF Broadening Participation, & more gone.

Nearly all NSF general research & ed funding eliminated.

NIH would be a shell of itself.

Most often when we refer to “diversity, equity, and inclusion” what we are really talking about is civil rights efforts. Folks should really start using this language instead —it’s not about cutting “DEI” this is about cutting civil rights progress and protections.
