The uphill battle of trying to encourage students to trust their own intellectual voice and find confidence in them while every place of "intellect" begins practices that discourage that. It's become harder to tell my students not to use AI while the larger world is embracing this to such a degree.
The Chronicle is frequently embarrassing, but this is just an all-timer. Scraping your contributor's essays into a hallucinating summary machine is such an anti-intellectual, anti-scholar move.
