The headline of this article is becoming a theme of the higher ed movement and the anti-authoritarian movement in general: rank-and-file folks are forging ahead of our nominal "leaders."

The issue for many is not the genocide itself, but the fact that we’re talking about it. They want an event of such violent, brutal, and bloody scale to go unmentioned, undiscussed, uncriticized, and unanalyzed. Because their feelings are fragile, we are expected to stay silent!

Why are we using technology to pursue racist and ecologically disastrous forms of plagiarism (AI)? I just want technologies that ensure smoke alarms don’t beep in the middle of the fucking night!

Collage/ painting by 6-8 yr old students inspired by José Ramírez’ work, LA artist. We read his books, studied his work, & sketched before creating a plant/animal on black paper w/ oil pastels. Kids used acrylic paint on canvas & re-outlined plants/animals & abstract shapes w/ oil pastels.

The world’s chaotic but reading grounds us. Pitu le baila al mar is the story of an afrolatina girl who loves to dance. She navigates challenges w/ 2 loving mothers who affirm that any body type can dance. Perfect story to discuss family structure, body stereotypes, & identity. #duallanguage #edusky

As an educator, I’m striving to humanize and highlight folks who are being dehumanized and othered. #Readalouds are an amazing tool. This is a great read about unhoused people.

Read about trans people, BIPOC, immigrants, activists, poor people… #edusky

The world’s a cliff crumbling into the sea, but we have books. Una historia diferente is about a child trying to understand unhoused people in her community. This conversation starter can help launch a canned food drive, care packages for unhoused people, volunteering opportunities… #edusky #langsky
