Being out is powerful. It makes others safer, if you can be.

This is thirty years now since I began my journey. Next year will be the anniversary of my legal documents!

Never let them to you we're caricatures.
Never let them tell you we didn't exist before.
Keep learning.

Lost my camera last night. Don't know when it came off the bike; it was dark and I was running across the county in the dark.

We drove back and forth and saw no sign of it. Maybe someone will find it and trace the video back home...

All I have now is mountings and 4 terabytes of memories.

Neighbor cut down the tree between my bedroom and his accessory dwelling's front stoop.

What an asshole. This tree was between hide driveway and my bedroom, he did it without notice.

Do you notice replies are disabled as are quote posts?

Well, that's because this guys is suggesting something illegal. Not only is the shortfall magnitudes more than the DNC coffers, it would be illegal to redirect donations to charity.

Please do actual things.

Please don't trash things which can be recycled.

It's easier for a donation place to deal with weird things like fiber and electronics recycling because they end up with piles of it.

My local for-profit thrift does fiber and electronics. Call yours and ask around! Most Goodwills have a list.
The question I ask people is "if you saw it in a thrift store and suddenly had a use for it, would you pay $2-5 to rebuy it or is that too much money" and surprisingly often the answer is "I would not pay any money for this" in which case IT IS TRASH
My childhood was chaotic & impoverished; I was the recipient of donated clothes. That's fine! Whoever donated those clothes was helping their community support a family in real need!

But I'd argue that it's dehumanizing to donate stuff that you, yourself, wouldn't touch or put on your kids.

Still up at Mom's; she's doing well. But got some light novels to pass the time. This one is much lighter than I expected; the TV was oh so good. Whereas this is *written* in such a peculiar way. If I hadn't liked the character from the TV show so much, I'd have given it a miss; but it's right.

Oh, wow! Hey, neighbors, if you can, please drop our Governor a note to push these over the finish line.

I know there's alot of politics out there, but letters (even emails) do work.

It's something small we can do to shore up against that bad out there.

Even if it's gibberish, it's always useful to include what you did hear in the question of asking for more information.

As someone who has trouble being understood, it lets me repeat it in a way that may focus on the correct bits to help the conversation.

Update on my mom: She's good, at home, back to normal.

My sister is here and we're going to rebuild some habits for her hopefully to reduce the impact of these injuries so mom can be independent again.

Learning new skills and patterns is tough in your 70s, or any age.

This morning I was awoken to a call, my mom had a stroke. So tonight I'm driving to her. I had to run errands, this is stressful.

But on my way, I see someone else's mom isn't going home.

This is the country we live in.

I can not take a picture of this grand adventure of making flatbread on a skillet in the forest under whispering pines.

I just can't, there's not enough hands. Even if I used a tripod, how would I get the exact moment?

So I can have light without using the 'boob' lamp, we put up LED strands in a decorative pattern... but for some reason, as the strands die, which arms stop being lit varies. It's usually at least the one of the right, but sometimes it's joined by two more failing to light. Randomly.

Find something to enjoy in the world.

Don't look for enemies where there aren't any. There's enough bad in the world without making more.

Today I got to hand out jr rangers badges to almost a dozen kids!

Mmm, 8-bit flowing into something happy hardcore into a far more deeper vaporspace moving so quickly.

My mom would not approve.

It's me!

In the orange. Confused how the image can see my front and back at the same time; must be on the edge of the lens.

It's extra good to get out and do something good and constructive for everyone (and get a good dose of the forest) in these times of troubles.
A big thank you to the volunteers who joined us for a busy hands-on workday! In partnership with #BigBasinRedwoods State Park, we created brush piles in the Redwood Grove to assist in fuel reduction efforts and forest management.

Back when it was brand new, I saw computers in a shop and fell in love. I lived in a very rural fishing town in Oregon, so we didn't have computers, my parents sent me to a summer camp and I got to learn DOS and BASIC on a brand new PCjr.

Our class got an Apple Color the next year.
I'm curious, peeps: what was the first computer you can remember using?

The first computer I would have used would have been the BBC Micro at primary school, but the first computer we had at home was a Commodore 64.
