this sounds obvious but you do in fact have to grapple with the fact that people-will-know-what-you-cum-to (or at very least make extremely understandable assumptions about what-you-cum-to) and the more you try to shield yourself from that vulnerability the more your work will suffer
I've answered a nice handful of q's over the last couple years on how to draw good porn and think of good concepts and for some reason I've always accidentally left out an important bit and it's that you have to be bluntly and unapologetically in touch with what you find hot w/o laughing it off

I also think sometimes people mistake an inability to profit from art of any kind as altruism. Like. The whole issue of fanfic writers being unable to profit easily without some level of legal issues. Or artists without the means to get merch sales going easily. If you can, most people would.

Social media makes people so willing to speak on things they simply do not understand too. Like love of the craft is no less present when in the end one of the dreams of most creators is to be able to make a living doing That and not working for someone else.

something more complex going on here than just “monetizing hobbies” convo. still making for me, but sharing it, and wanting the sustaining of it to be a collective process? interrogating the perception of involving financial resources as universally detracting (“selling out”). is this anything
