It's important to respect a DNR for a patient who has chosen to have one, but adding a DNR order to a patient's record without their consent is morally and practically equivalent to killing them.

I think the thing a lot of people are like just refusing to grasp is the point was always that the US cutting off aid would cause mass death. That under developing these countries, creating a network of soft power and dependence was always the liberal agenda. That it was set up this way.

I really love this. It feels like a lot of "solutions" are made without speaking to those they would affect. The parents pointed out that there's nothing for these kids to do, that the goal isn't to reduce crime but to move it elsewhere... I'd love to hear from teens as well.

in pretty much every domain, and not just through research, private industry *exists* because of public funding, public infrastructure, etc. It is a baby held up by its mother, thinking it can stand on its own two feet.
Right, but a lot of important foundational research isn't profitable right up until it is. Private industry used to be able to count on the government to fund the years of research it can take to get to the profitable part. Now it's just not going to happen.
