As much of a bummer as it was when Sandy Hook proved that guns were more important than dead kids, I'm thinking it will be even worse if the lesson of the Epstein files turns out to be that old rich white guys are more important than kids getting raped.

Sometimes I wonder if our many years of jokes about writers hating writing and doing anything but writing, etc, have convinced people that the writing part is the hurdle and the goal is just to have a thing in hand. But I am here to tell you: the writing is the best part. The act is the thing.

In the midst of all that we are facing, I want us to think about who we are being told to look to for understanding in this moment, who is being propped up as the voice of wisdom, and ask how right were they in predicting this, a year ago, 5, 8 years ago, and then ask why they are being centered now

Whelp, it’s Wednesday!

It might be a soggy one here in the UK, but here is Peanut hopping in to brighten your day.

Today is a good day to cosy up, and hide away from the weather.

And here is your reminder to take a break, move around, stretch, hydrate and maybe grab a little snack.

Democratic party leadership has been on autopilot for ten years, they weren't losing to fascism, fascism isn't popular enough for them to lose to fascism, they were allowing it to fill the void where their leadership should have been. Tonight we're seeing that we have other options. They should too.

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”
