It seems to me that a lot of writing advice boils down to “don’t try anything hard” which is pretty bad advice when you think about it. It’s like telling a body builder “don’t lift anything too heavy.”
The goal is not to avoid making mistakes — it is to push yourself and see how far you can go.

Finally got a few character names down with a little over a hundred words written. Didn't think I'd be able to squeeze any #writing in at all during my vacation. I call this a victory. Happy 4th of July!

I picked up a signed copy of Bury Our Bones In The Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab at the lovely #readsandcompany bookstore in Phoenixville, PA! I highly recommend visiting their #bookstore. The rocket ship in their kids' room was very cool. 💙📚

Another fascinating article on #Lit Hub. As someone who has spent years in the bookselling space, so much of this article rang true. We need to bring unions back into more industries.
I may be a bit biased because I have read The Great Gatsby several times, but this was one of the best #lit articles I have read all year. Aron Solomon brilliantly connects timeless characters to our modern day reality.
