NASUWT attendees will assemble at 10.30am on Market Street, outside Waverley Station (under the bridge just before the turn onto Jeffrey Street).

We will then take the short walk down to Parliament in time for the march setting off at 11am. ✊

Erica from our Social Policy team joined colleagues from Glasgow Disability Living Alliance and @mariecurieuk.bsky.social to discuss solutions to the harms being experienced by sick and disabled people and what needs to change to prevent them to challenge poverty. #ChallengePoverty #WeDemandBetter
Any one of us could find ourselves in need of support due to sickness or disability. Social security must act as both a safety net and springboard anchored in dignity, fairness and respect so that all of us can flourish.

This morning our Head of Social Justice joined with colleagues from @povertyalliance.org and @independentage.bsky.social to discuss the impact a minimum income guarantee could make and the steps needed to deliver this as part of Challenge Poverty week. #ChallengePoverty #WeDemandBetter
The Minimum Income Guarantee can provide the sure foundation that we all need by ensuring a level of income that will allow all of us to live a dignified life. A roadmap has been created on the steps we need to take get there, now we need our politicians to commit to delivering these.
