Over the past three years, I have been on a journey to heal from the abuse I endured under my former PhD supervisor. This process has required me to embrace radical acceptance, cultivate patience and empathy, and confront the difficult reality that those who are hurt often perpetuate harm.

@brendonstuff.bsky.social second month in a row where I’ve had to email the London Police Service Board to ask for their meeting minutes from the previous month because they never posted them online 🥲. And the “policies” section on their website leads to a broken link hahahahah.. 😭

Meanwhile, our faculty is being nickel-and-dimed into removing TA assistance from already too-large classes even as we are harangued about retention, and the university is sitting on massive cash reserves that they say they can’t spend even as they redirect operating $ to “strategic” slush funds.

Just know that Danielle Smith said "If you don't become sexually mature, you can't have kids. And that's what we're trying to preserve" during the press briefing on Monday.

I’ve had the honour of working alongside Serena during my many advocacy visits to Nova Institution.

Her experience is not an isolated case—it reflects a broader pattern of state violence inside prisons across Canada.

Locking people up for being poor, sick, or in crisis doesn’t solve the problem and in fact makes it worse. When people are detained instead of supported, they often lose housing, jobs, and vital connections. That instability drives desperation, which fuels crime and social harm. (1/6)

Pierre Poilievre says Canada’s top politicians all need protection. Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk had six private security guards when he was shot in the neck — a spot no bulletproof vest could cover. Maybe the issue isn’t a lack of bodyguards, but a lack of critical thinking.

In harm work, there’s no such thing as a “perfect victim.” People have histories, contradictions, coping strategies that don’t always make sense from the outside.

Support and care can’t be conditional on someone fitting an impossible standard.

Harm is harm.
