Friedkin's SORCERER is an interesting film; the one thing that really stood out is how aggressive and tangible nature really is here, a character in itself. The bridge scene is one of the most tense scenes I've ever seen

Had the privilege of seeing Del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN at TIFF and, as expected, it was both violent and stunning. A beautiful rendition that recognizes the characters in its settings (both constructed and natural). Find a big screen and see it!

Currently re-reading 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA and can't get over how much of a character the Nautilus actually feels like. Like yea Nemo is cool and all, but the Nautilus just feels so developed and lived in...

What I loved about 28 YEARS LATER is that it positioned zombies as elemental and as an extension of nature...the gorgeous cinematography worked overtime to imbue beauty and dread into nearly every frame. Phenomenal film

The best horror films, in my opinion, use setting/landscape to build tension AND push the story forward. THE DAMNED is one such film. It straddles the line between beauty and horror in expert ways. More people need to see this movie #filmsky #writesky #horror

My only exposure to Clive Barker is the HELLRAISER film, and because I love that film so much I've always wanted to dive into his novels. Glad I did! THIEF OF ALWAYS was fantastic, stunning illustrations. Hoping to check out more soon..

THE BRUTALIST is one of the few films I've seen that tackles this relationship between place, space and meaning so well. It's cinematography is both "empty" and imbued with meaning, soul. Always breathtaking to watch. The scene in Italy is a real highlight #filmsky

While everyone is reeling from THAT death scene in LAST OF US, I'm stunned by how well the show has managed to capture the sheer breathtaking sublimity of nature. It's as punishing and cruel as the world it takes place in, and they've nailed that feeling perfectly from the game

After BENTLEY, I really started to find my voice in film. I was doing my masters at the time and the concept of landscape and film immediately stood out. DALHOUSIE came as a result of tying story and place. I tried to capture the essence of Port Dalhousie. Let me know what you think!

I love horror and sci-fi, but the idea of using VFX seemed so daunting to me at the time. But I had access to a green screen, and nicer lenses, and a talented actor, so I thought, why not? So I came up with BENTLEY. This is also the first time I tried photographing Niagara Falls

ORIGAMI is an exercise in editing. I went in with no script, no actors, and an idea - what if a man was able to speak with his conscience, and, after messing up that first interaction, went to great lengths for that opportunity again? Shot choice was key here, and tempo.

THE FORK is still one of my favourite accomplishments. It forced me to utilize the camera in ways I hadn't before. I cast a fork as the MC, used camera tricks to tell a story about a utensil finding its place in the world, and puts a smile on my face thinking about the process.

Wasn't expecting to like A REAL PAIN as much as I did. Just when you think it can't get any more honest, Eisenberg and Culkin take it up. Unreal performances. And stunning (sometimes heartbreaking) architecture photography #film 🎬
