Hello, I currently am an Assistant Professor and run the Cortical Plasticity Lab at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Thanks to Tomahawk Elementary for letting me come out to STEAM night to show some brains and talk neuroscience, and a special shoutout to the shy kid that came back three times to ask some really interesting questions. Gave me some hope (even temporarily) for the future.

The purpose of our lab is to understand how recovery happens after brain injury. We know that it is possible for at least some recovery of function to happen after injury, especially with rehabilitative interventions, but the underlying mechanisms are still a mystery.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am generally not a proponent of social media. However, it is clear that as a scientist with federal funding, it is critical that I can explain the importance of my research and disseminate information more effectively. So I am taking the plunge.
