Day 2 on O’ahu was a dream. Got proposed to on a sunrise hike by my partner of almost 8 years. He then took me to a local breakfast spot, then 2 different bays for snorkeling, another hike on the coast in the afternoon, and then a Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner. Life is good.

My poor, big guy Artemis has gone through it in the last 1.5 years. Suddenly went blind and was diagnosed with SARDS. Gained 30lbs. 6 months later developed Idiopathic Epilepsy. 3 months after that we noticed a small tumor on his chest that rapidly grew to the size of a softball within 3 months.

Coming into my neighborhood there’s a house with an obnoxious banner of Trump as Rambo with the typical MAGA slogan. Directly across the street is a house with a neon sign in their window in the shape of the Rebel Alliance logo with the words “Resist” & “Rebel” around it. This is the America I love.

We’re calling for a Florida boycott over the inhumane “Alligator Alcatraz” detention site. Cancel your family vacation and choose a different destination this summer.

My first ever Pride was a hit. Got to march in the Twin Cities Pride Parade as a member of Indivisible, a civic activism group fighting for democracy. Already can’t wait for next year 🤍

On of my top pet peeves about bedside nursing is providers thinking that if they write something in their note it means they ordered it. Then getting mad at you when you haven’t been doing the thing that they never ordered.

I get that there are some genuinely disgusting people in healthcare. Trust me. But people really do not seem to understand that a significant percent of the population shows up to say slurs and physically assault the overworked and underpaid people trying to help them, and there are no consequences.
Abusing healthcare workers is really unacceptable
I once had a family member call me the f slur for doing a ‘woman’s job’ (I’m a male nurse).

Scrolling through all these photos and videos from the #NoKings protests across the country and I feel so proud of everyone. I also want to specifically give a shout out to the fact that there was people of all ages at the rally in my town; from infants to the elderly. We are in this together!

From the #NoKings rally in Mankato, MN earlier today. So proud to see this small town show out in numbers. We are living through dark times but I’m glad to know that my community is willing to fight through it with me.

In addition to protest marches and rallies, we have many more options for peaceful resistance to the authoritarian regime.

These two web sites outline many nonviolent strategies. You can choose the ones that work best for your community.

My charge nurse had a seizure pad thrown at her by a patient and my patient told me they’d “bitch slap me” if I attempted to help them lay back down in bed so they didn’t fall on the floor. Another day in the paradise that is bedside nursing.

About a month overdue on my usual blood donation cause work has me incredibly mentally and physically stressed out so my days off have been spent recouping before my next shift. The Red Cross has been out here calling me more than my own mother due to my slacking

All of the Tr*mp supporters in my neighborhood have taken down their MAGA flags and signs, which makes me curious. Where’d they draw the line? Cause it wasn’t at fascism/racism/sexism/rapist/convicted felon/insurrectionist/anti-veterans/oligarchy/pathological lies/etc.

Measles was completely eradicated in the United States by the MMR vaccine. It is not possible for anything to be better than that. It is journalistic malpractice to present this as anything other than stupidity, lies, and outright fraud.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will direct federal health agencies to explore potential new treatments for measles as the U.S. faces its largest outbreak in 25 years. Experts fear the decision could have grave consequences, as studies show the existing vaccine is 97% effective in preventing infection.
RFK Jr. Orders Search for New Measles Treatments Instead of Urging Vaccination
Decades of research have turned up no miracle treatment for measles, but studies show the M.M.R. shot is 97 percent effective in preventing the disease.
