Congratulations to IGI alums @jro-hamilton.bsky.social @connortsuchida.bsky.social & team on the launch of Azalea Therapeutics!
Jennifer Doudna's latest startup, Azalea Therapeutics, launched with $82M. It's based on virus like particles developed by CEO Jenny Hamilton and a new CAR-T trick developed by UCSF's Justin Eyquem. Their goal? The ultimate CRISPR-based in vivo CAR-T. @endpts.com - endpoints.news/jennifer-dou...

Great to see others corroborate the finding that CRISPR-Cas9 mediated DSBs can lead to chromosomal aberrations (tinyurl.com/yp2b9s7m).

I always thought these findings weren’t meant to cause panic, but rather spur innovative solutions. Interesting to see pifithrin-a treatment do just that!

We usually think of genetic drift as the predominant stochastic force in evolving populations. But working with some model microbial populations, we found a distinct source of demographic stochasticity that scales (and behaves) differently than drift
