A "suave, Francophile food-and-wine know-it-all" and yellow dog Democrat who would rather be back home in Southern California.

I'm writing as fast as I can.

I've just discovered, accidentally, that there is a fish called the Sarcastic Fringehead (Neoclinus blanchardi), described by Wikipedia as "a small but hardy saltwater tube-blenny" — and suddenly this dreary, quickly darkening afternoon seems somehow brighter.

And not the last one, inshallah.
Speaker Mike Johnson: "Zohran Mamdani is without a doubt the biggest win for socialism in the history of the country."

"Marion Nestle’s blunt nutrition advice, sharp criticism of food companies and popular books have made her one of the most recognizable names in nutrition." What does she have against popular books? @realoxfordcomma.bsky.social

Do this slimy dweeb and his idiot boss realize that their endorsements of Cuomo are the best possible gifts they could be giving Mamdani?
BREAKING: Stephen Miller has endorsed Andrew Cuomo.

Secret funeral: Charlie Kirk reportedly buried at Catholic parish in Phoenix, Arizona in ceremony with only his family members and close friends in attendance. His gravesite is unmarked.

Here's a thought to give us hope, though: According to a 2017 study (the most recent) by the CDC, the average age at death for non-Hispanic white males in America is 72 years.
He's taking away healthcare for millions. He gets a thrill out of killing people on the open seas. He wants you to hate. Dwell on that – he wants you to hate. He's demanding our justice department pay him $230,000,000. He thinks he owns the country.

He is a clear and present danger.

Is it my imagination or is almost every person he describes as "low IQ" either Black or Hispanic?
Trump did, however, lose points when he started to pontificate about the virtues of catapult powered nuclear weapons during the middle of the cognitive test.
Trump: "They have Jasmine Crockett -- a low IQ person. AOC is low IQ. Have her pass the exams I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. They're cognitive tests. Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump. The first couple questions are easy -- a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe ... "

Disingenuous twaddle in an anti-Mamdani Washington Post opinion piece yesterday blaming the financial decline of London on Sadiq Khan and Keir Starmer instead of the contemptible Nigel Farage, the buffoonish Boris Johnson, and the rest of the cynical profiteers who promoted Brexit. wapo.st/4noWY68
Opinion | London’s sad decline is a warning to New Yorkers
In three terms as mayor, Sadiq Khan has crushed the economic life out of Britain’s capital.

And that he thinks those tests measure IQ.
Still amazes me that Trump took a test that literally has drawings of animals on it and he thinks that proves he is a massive genius

‎hi franky is the most fun football app. franky brings you team hotties, player backstories, WAG spotlights, and the kind of wild lore that makes fandom irresistible. you’ll also find a judgment-free...

His autobiography begins "I have led a wonderful life, happy and full of incident."
Hans Christian Andersen, the master of fairytales, kept a diary most of his life. It's full of his hopes, worries, ideas and dreams.

Oh yeah. And any entry marked with a + is a day when he'd had a good wank.

(Lot of drama and angst on here rn so thought i'd put that bit of history in your feeds)

I hope Trump wins every lawsuit he files against the "lamestream media" because they have totally abrogated their responsibilities to ask him tough questions and not accept bullshit answers, or prominently covered his destruction of the White House, his posting of those asshole "king" videos, etc.
October 22, 2025 at 12:38 AM
What the fuck is he talking about?
Trump: "I'm letting everybody build their own power plant so they'll become like an electric utility in addition to AI."

The video Trump posted as a king dropping shitbombs on protesters is at once the low point in American civilization; an act of degradation that aptly encapsulates his presidency; an embarrassment that GOP officials will pretend they haven't seen; and a story the bollixed media will underplay.

Waiting for a reporter to ask Trump "Sir, when you say things that are patently false, are you deliberately lying or are you just ignorant of the facts?" Or how about "Sir, when someone asks you a difficult question, why do you always attack them and their employer instead of attempting to answer?"

"thousands"
Across all the major outlets — NYT, WSJ, WaPo, LAT, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, NBC, CNBC, NPR, Bloomberg — the only outlet without a No Kings story on its home page is CBS News.

For every other outlet, it's near the top. Even Fox News is running with "Nationwide unrest looms as thousands mobilize"

See Elmore Leonard's 10 Rules of Writing, #3 -- "Never use a verb other than 'said' to carry dialogue." (On the other hand, I've always liked "'Shut up,' he explained.")
Actions:

"Hello!" He smirked as he set down the mug.

"Oh, hello." She laughed and pumped her first.

"Greetings!" They waved from across the room.

(Actions are punctuated as their own sentences.)
