I worked in government contracting for a Woman-Owned Small Business during the Obama years. We had to endure numerous government shutdowns. Each of which led to layoffs and real harm for working families.

A deal to end this shutdown is a very good thing. Let’s get out government back to work.

I have a question for the legal community on the 14th Amendment. The text of section 1 opens with “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

What does the “and” clause mean?

Very little of what Trump does these days amazes me.

Any one of the last three of Trump’s Cabinet-level picks (Gabbard as DNI, Gaetz as AG, RFK for HHS), standing alone, would arguably have been the worst in American history.
