Heard from a colleague spending a few months in the Netherlands.

"Went on a 35-mile bike ride today, entirely on bike paths, through all kinds of landscapes. Turns out I love biking, I'm just scared of biking with cars."

We live in a society. There are rules. Leash your dog unless you’re at the dog park, and don’t bring it into food service establishments.
your dog is not a child. it's not allowed at the playfield for a reason.

my kids have been bitten by unleashed dogs in seattle

our local playfield is not usable for sports due to the dog sh*t that wasn't picked up, and turf being eroded from dogs running.

Seattle residents ask: When did this become a dog park?
The number of complaints about off-leash dogs in city parks has surged, and anecdotal evidence points to a higher number. The conflict is pitched on both sides.

according to IZA study - WA's housing shortage is 847k homes

there are ~400,000 homes in seattle.

and per microsoft's 2019 study, just in seattle we have a shortage of 194k affordable homes.

i'd wager this number is pretty accurate. mayor's comp plan is only 110k homes

Frozen veggies. Dry beans. Basic seasoning and condiments. There is some prep but this can be the base for so much food that is healthy and low cost
as someone on the zoomer/millennial boundary i feel there's a legit problem with people not knowing how to purchase groceries

Parking lots turn streets into miserable places to walk.

New study finds that parking lots "negatively - and substantially - impact walkability; their objective walkability score is half that of other road segments."

This website is amazing. It computes travel times to specified destinations and then provides a heatmap to the furthest of those destinations. If I was looking for a new place to live, this is the first stop I'd make to narrow down which neighborhoods I was interested in.
