The solution isn't destroying all AIs and going back the way it was before (it's impossible). The only correct answer to that is a universal basic income + free healthcare + free mass transit + more free stuff provided by the government in general. Sadly the world isn't ready for that

It's a collective action problem. Pretending otherwise doesn't get us any closer to a solution. It simply transfers economic rents to other parts of the world.
So, again: let's focus on reducing demand for fossil fuels and increasing demand for low-carbon energy. That's the whole ballgame.
