I love Rebecca DOWN. Known as Dollar Tree Dinners.

Her “Meal in a Bag” is meant to provide ppl with a complete meal that is $8 or less, is shelf stable, & can be made without access to a full kitchen. I love this as a direct aid option. Good for neighbors & elders who can’t/wont go to a pantry.

Amazon announced plans to lay off 14,000 employees as it looks to invest more in AI.

Wall Street cheered the news, sending Amazon stock prices higher.

This will boost Amazon's CEO pay and bolster Jeff Bezos's net worth, which is now $250 billion.

The system is rigged.

The oligarchy game plan seems to be shaping up; "We'll cut benefits, remove all social safety nets, and automate all laborers out of their jobs. That way, there's just a huge population of disgruntled, desperate people who feel disenfranchised and discarded. That will be good for us, we think."

Mutual aid groups, food banks, etc are about to be under even more pressure in the US.

Post your local one's donation link here, and if you're seeing this, and you can spare a few bucks, pick one two to give to.

Exactly. People losing food stamps affects all of us. It affects the children who get free lunch at school. It affects those who are already in hardship of making ends meet while the prices of groceries have gone up.

Please take the time to go to findhelp.org to find food pantries in your area.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

I lived with my dad when I was very young and he didn’t apply for food stamps or free school lunches, though we qualified.

So, I went hungry. It was awful. I begged neighbors for saltine crackers. I can say it was the worst time of my life.

Children shouldn’t go hungry. Restore SNAP benefits.

And though he may be gone, his spirit remains in every harmony, in every bassline, in every heart he touched. Artists like D’Angelo don’t just make music; they make memories.

We will miss him.

D’Angelo was more than a musician, he was a vessel of soul, a conjurer of feeling, a truth-teller in melody and rhythm. He bared his soul with every note and we felt it.
