Mamdani going so hard for trans right and winning is some juicy proof that every dem that abandoned us didn’t do it for politically advantageous reasons. They did it because they’re transphobes and they will lose for it

After six years, I was finally able to return to California Extreme, a pinball and arcade expo and one of my favorite events. Unfortunately, I had to bring my dog with me due to circumstances and because she is so anxious by herself, I've had to spend the entire time in my room with her. Woof.

It should be noted that Vance’s account was preemptively blocked for me because of this list. If you don’t use this (and other) blocklists, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

Something that I've been grappling with lately - I want to be more involved in community organizations, especially queer-focused ones, but they all hold their regular meetings in CHURCHES. I understand why from a logistical POV, but dang is it sure alienating for people like me w/ religious trauma.

Spotted ICE in Fresno, CA this morning behind the Manchester mall. All were in unmarked, normal looking vehicles. Looks like they might have set up an office over here too.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

My mental health practicum starts in a little over two weeks, and my anxiety has been peaking more frequently than ever lately. Like, part of me knows this is likely normal for a lot of students. But it still activates my imposter syndrome *hard.*

Late to the #365games party so I gotta catch up. But I love the idea of sharing a game a day that has been meaningful to me in some way. Not necessarily the best or my favorites, but ones that had some impact in one way or another. I'm gonna include tabletop in it too, to keep things fresh!

That there aren't that many trans kids undergoing any kind of medical gender affirming care—to say nothing of surgery—doesn't mean that these EOs aren't horrifically harmful to them.

And they are only the beginning.
The MAGA movement has convinced many that fleets of trans kids are being subjected to woke medical barbarism.

The real numbers?

0.017% of youth are coded as trans and receive puberty blockers.

0.037% access hormone therapy.

That's 1/20th of one percent.

Here’s the real number of children receiving gender-affirming medical treatment
New research reveals it's a fraction of a fraction.

This is why NYT's Connections is an amazingly frustrating game. I love the concept, but too often clues like this exist purely to waste one of your four guesses when it's clearly a connection. That doesn't feel great when you are so limited on chances. It comes across as very player-antagonistic.

NEW: With ranked-choice voting surviving by just 0.2% in Alaska, a big factor was the mobilization of Native organizers to save the system.

The 'no' to repealing RCV won by very large margins in the majority- or plurality-Native areas.

Bolts dove into what happened there: A really cool piece.

A ballot measure to repeal Alaska’s new election system trails by 664 votes, with the state’s predominantly Native regions delivering large margins against it.
