Fan of pretty much anything that can be enjoyed without leaving the sofa.
I for one am astonished that having watch the last guy being abused, mocked and hounded out of his job after a slow start, the millionaire Steven Gerrard decided he didn't need that in his life.

Genuinely perplexing.

Clarke deserves zero credit from that win last night. Watched his side be utterly outplayed for an hour and evidently had no idea how to change it. Comeback was 100% jam and nothing to do with the subs he was eventually forced into making.

Here's what literally nobody has asked but I feel needs saying. Dreamtime by the Stranglers is actually a really good album. Bored of people slaughtering it because it's not 'classic' Stranglers.

Always The Sun
Nice In Nice
Shakin Like A Leaf
Too Precious

Cracking stuff

So just to be clear, the guy playing up front and scoring for the Championship leaders in England doesn't get called up for Scotland but the Birmingham benchwarmer does? Genius from Steve Clarke.

Both Sunderland and Wolves starting with zero English players today.

That doesn't feel like a good thing for two clubs with traditionally strong local identities.

So that's the Scottish teams in Europe been knocked out of every competition it's possible for them to have been knocked out of so far.

Decent showings from Hibs and Utd but still a grim picture overall.

Number of Scots in tonight's starting 11s:

Hibs - 4
Aberdeen - 1

Linfield started with more Scots than the Dons.

Desperate times. Quotas needed.

I'm a huge advocate of Scottish clubs playing Scottish players but I really don't see how any club with genuine Champions League ambitions can be starting James Forrest.

Happy to announce I've newly discovered the music of John Martyn.

Not only does he appear to be brilliant, there are decades worth of music to work my way through.

Happy Thursday everyone.

Lot of talk about the English lass playing with a fractured leg. Fair enough. Impressive.

But here's proper nails in the Scottish women's game.

How does a Scottish footballer deal with a dislocated knee cap?
St Mirren WFC captain Jane O'Toole dislocates her knee cap against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but bashes it back into place before playing on for the remainder of the game.

Scientists suggest that the charisma vacuum created by a Sinner v Djokovic match could in theory consume the entire world. But only if it goes to five sets.

Somehow seems appropriate that Budweiser is the official beer of the wholly unappealing club world cup.

Relistening to the frankly brilliant and underappreciated Dogs In The Traffic by the mighty Love & Money.

Nice one

Serves Celtic right does that. Been sloppy and lazy for most of the second half. Aberdeen level despite offering virtually nothing all game.

This is by some distance the worst European final I've ever watched. Absolutely dire.

FFS! Buy CDs direct from the artists' websites! Or failing that, a music shop. Or failing that, the HMV online store. You don't need to buy *anything* from Amazon.

Really nice piece on one of my all time favourite albums, Love and Money's Strange Kind of Love. Off to listen to it again now.

Inside Love And Money's Strange Kind Of Love - Classic Pop Magazine
They didn't score any major hits, but Love And Money remain one of the most fondly-remembered Scottish bands of their era. Their sleeper classic from 1988, Strange Kind Of Love, is Exhibit A...

St Mirren v Hibs last night in the Scottish Premiership and only two Scots among the 22 starters. Dire state of affairs.

Thursday joy for anyone that needs some.
Please enjoy these shelter pups reacting to getting a kiss. Some are bashful, some have butterflies, and all deserve approximately 10 million more. 14/10 for all

I go to see quite a lot of live stand-up, much of which is brilliant, so I'm constantly bemused as to how Live At The Apollo manages to be consistently dreadful given all the talent that's out there.

@lookpark.bsky.social Relistening to the glorious Welcome Interstate Managers for the first time in a while. Didn't realise we Brits had a claim on you. If it's not too nosey, mind if I ask where in the UK you were born?

Genuinely fascinated to see what Reform do with all this newfound power. Lot of first-timers in positions of authority I expect. Can't just snipe from the sidelines any longer. Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised.
