Digital IDs - good idea or no? Seems like a bad idea to me, for reasons of money. Our economy is already in the toilet and the cost of getting together 70 million plastic cards and managing the daily admin of issuing and closing is going to run into zillions. And it seems unlikely to solve illegals.

🚑 NHS outsourced care: The trade-offs
🔸 Pros: Faster hips/knees ops (1-8 weeks vs 20)
🔸 Cons:
→ Older patients face longer waits for complex care
→ NHS loses £730/procedure vs private £1,500+
→ Staff leave for private sector salaries

3. 54% of patients report uncontrolled pain

Cost Comparison - Copying the Isle of Man's #AssistedDying scheme would cost UK taxpayers £53M+ /yr. Hospices raise £1bn/year funding themselves, but state-funded suicide services would distort priorities. Health Sec says funding 'comes at expense of other choices'. #NHSFunding"

Implementing #AssistedDying requires around 200 specialists – panel members, psychiatrists (15% vacancy rate), and social workers. Yet NHS has 100,000+ unfilled posts, including 40,000 nursing vacancies. Can we ethically prioritize death panels over cancer waitlists? #NHSStaffing

The Assisted Dying bill returns to Parliament in April. Who pays when the NHS faces a £32bn funding gap? With a £4.8bn deficit and palliative care underfunded (only 30% of areas have 24/7 support), more complex new services will divert resources from life-prolonging care. #NHSCrisis #AssistedDying

#AssistedDying will cost lives. Not the obvious - but what other vital services will be cut to allow an already overstretched #NHS to fund & staff the process - or buy in the facilities from a commercial provider? No one seems to be asking a vital question - how much will all this *cost*?

Assisted Dying -The New Statesman suggests the promoters of the bill see the service being part of the NHS. They want it seen as a 'treatment' rather than a threat & a drain on scarce resources. Labour may also be taking some NHS services private-wonder if this will be one? youtu.be/VFGWWU9yeQw?...
