Choosing between syndrome/diagnosis vs. symptom focused mental health research is a false dichotomy
New paper arguing how we can, and should, consider how risk/resilience/treatment factors can be uniquely + simultaneously associated with both levels of specificity

We need to organize--let’s help each other.
NIH is cancelling grants, but it's not clear exactly what they're cancelling and why. Without this information, we can't respond.
I've started a Google Sheet to track grant cancellations.
Please add any canceled grants you know of and spread the word!

As I wait for #MatchDay, I’ve been looking into #forensicpsych postdoc options and I’m surprised there are zero ABPP-approved sites in the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT). Closest options are MA (there are several) and ME.
What are the potential reasons?

Academics & healthcare providers…
We must take some accountability for the threats to health/science.
We have failed at communicating what we do & why our work is essential to the public.
Stop writing that academic article…start finding ways to talk with - and listen to - ppl outside your bubble

With all the concerns re: finding qualified reviewers, I don't understand why we're still using three reviewers so regularly. I get it if it is a controversial topic or so broad as to require a wider array of expertise. Other than that, aren't two sufficient (if the editor is reading it too)?

Can you help me build a list of things that are (or might be) wrong in the current HiTOP model while I'm sick and recovering on the couch? Some of my top hunches are:
-My PhD was wrong (☹️) and low sexual function shouldn’t be neatly nested under internalizing

Some phrases to practice before you head to the Thanksgiving meal:
1) “Bite me!”
2) “What an odd thing to say to me!”
3) “I can’t believe you felt comfortable saying that out loud!”
